In the event that your Nikon product needs to be repaired please follow the steps below before returning it to the Nikon Service Centre.

What to include when shipping your product to Nikon:

    * Return address and contact details.


    * Telephone number.


    * Written detailed description of the problem.


    * Include anything else that can help illustrate the issue, such as images or memory card.
      If the problem cannot be sourced to one product then return associated products that may be causing the problem. (E.g. camera body and lens if focus is a problem)


    * If you are claiming under the terms of the Nikon warranty, include a copy of some form of proof of purchase (do not send the original) and the Nikon warranty form supplied with the product. The proof of purchase should be a copy of the sales receipt, credit card statement or bank statement. The proof of purchase must include date of sale. Please note that Nikon warranties do not cover misuse or abuse, including tampering by unauthorized persons, or impact, sand or liquid damage.


    * If the product is not covered by warranty and you would like an estimate to the cost of repair, please indicate this in writing at the time you return the product. Please note that there may be a nominal charge for estimates that are refused.


We recommend the following procedures for shipping and handling:

    * Secure the product in the original packaging if available.


    * If you do not have the original packaging, place the product in a good quality cardboard box. Ensure that the product is wrapped/packed securely to prevent damage from occurring during transit. Never package a product in less packing material than was in the original makers box, doing so makes returned goods vulnerable to damage in transit.


    * For reference, record your camera's serial number before shipping.
      Remove any film, if possible, and any other items not requiring attention, such as memory cards, power cables, lenses and flash equipment unless they are part of the issue.


    * Send the product via reputable courier service or registered postal delivery.
