Nikon announces the addition VR to the EDG Fieldscope range. These new EDG VR Fieldscope models are the world's first Fieldscopes to incorporate a lens-shift type VR function.
The vibration reduction algorithm, based on Nikon's sophisticated VR mechanism used in NIKKOR VR lenses, has been optimized for these scopes and compensates external vibrations caused by wind and operations such as focusing, panning and tilting.

Nikon in South Africa today announces a two year warranty on all products across the Nikon range including COOLPIX, Nikon 1, all DSLR cameras as well as Nikkor Lenses. Nikon Sport Optics (binoculars, rangefinders, riflescopes and field scopes) fall under a 10 year warranty. The two year warranty excludes Nikon accessories.

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 15 August 2011 – Less than a year after its launch, Nikon’s inspiring DX-format SLR, the D7000, has won the category of 'European Advanced SLR Camera of the Year 2011-2012 at the EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) awards. This follows up on the success of the same camera at the TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) awards, where it won ‘Best D-SLR Advanced’, and the red dot product design awards where it won a ‘red dot seal of approval’.
